Tottenham striker Harry Kane feels that he should be even better next season in order to match or even better the tally of league goals that he managed in the 2014/15 season.

Kane turned out to be one of the best players during last season. Despite not having been a first-team regular until October, the England international managed to score only a couple of goals less than the Golden Boot winner, Sergio Aguero. Kane could have easily won the PFA Player of the Year award had it not been for the brilliant Eden Hazard of Chelsea, who helped his team win the league title.

There have been several strikers who have performed for a single campaign and gone off the boil. Kane does not want to be one among them and he says that the 2014-15 season is no flash in the pan. After having recently made his debut for the England national team, Kane requested to be part of the European championships. Mauricio Pochettino has already admitted that it will be a big task to keep the striker fresh for the new campaign, as he has now been playing consistently for several months now. The 21-year-old has become the first Spurs player since Teddy Sheringham to score 21 league goals in a campaign.

"It's down to me. I'm a hard worker, I'm always going to try and improve and progress. That's all I have to focus on, how I can get better and do even better next season. That's down to me and hopefully we can do better as a team. Obviously it has been an unbelievable season and definitely one I won't forget. But I have a long way to go, next season I have to try to do even better. He [Pochettino] played me in the Europa League earlier in the season and I did well in it to get my confidence growing,” said Kane.
