Tottenham have been a breath of fresh air this season. The club has always been rather weak when comes to defending, but this has changed in the space of a summer.

Tottenham now have the best defensive record in the Premier League after letting in only 17 goals in the 20 league outings. This good record has been a major factor in Tottenham being only couple of points behind table leaders Arsenal. The talk of a top four finish has now been transformed into a potential title challenge, which has never before been experienced by the club supporters.

Mauricio Pochettino was questioned about the possibility of winning the title this season. He claimed that the next 10 games could define the season for the club. This run starts with an away game against Everton, which is never an easy place to visit despite the poor form of the home team. This will be followed by three consecutive home matches for the London outfit. Most importantly, many of the opponents that Tottenham face in this period are either at the bottom of the table or near them. This gives them a great opportunity to put some distance between the likes of Manchester United, who are only three points behind.

City, meanwhile, are three points ahead of Spurs with both teams having played the same 20 games. “We need to arrive in the last 10 games with the possibility to fight for the objectives. The next nine, 10 games will maybe make the mark on how we finish in the table. We are very quiet. We believe in ourselves. We are very confident and in football a lot can happen. We believe. The only way we cannot achieve all that we can in football is if we stop working hard,” said Pochettino.
