Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has warned Tottenham Hotspur that they may not be able to sign Jack Grealish for a knockdown price this summer. Earlier last month, Bruce admitted that the Villains may have to offload some of main players after having entered into a transfer embargo, but the club have since managed to find a breakthrough with the change in ownership.

As a result, the west Midlands outfit are in a much better position financially and Bruce has now warned Spurs that Grealish won’t come on the cheap, he said: “I don’t want to lose Jack and neither do the owners. We don’t want to lose our best players but it’s football and it might happen. The one thing we’re able to do is be in a much better bargaining position because now, if Spurs want to buy him, they will have to buy him at a premium that in the last few weeks they haven’t been able to get to.Take money out of it, we’re in the Championship and Tottenham are in the Champions League so I’m aware that there is a human involved and a football player.”

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mauricio Pochettino has credited club’s chairman, Daniel Levy for transforming the side into one of the most financially stable club in the world, adding that they can now relax from the fear of losing the club’s best legs.

In past years, Spurs have been forced to sell stars to bigger clubs – notably Luka Modric and Gareth Bale to Spanish giants, Real Madrid. But Pochettino’s men have all signed new long-term contracts this season. However, Spurs’ hot form has recently triggered speculation about the futures of Kyle Walker, Danny Rose and Dele Alli, and with the club building a new £750 million home ground, there might be reasons for Levy to generate funds.

Pochettino opines that the motive of a player should be to get the better of his counterpart rather than to do something to cause embarrassment to him.
