When Gareth Bale signed with Real Madrid, Tottenham tried to fill in the shoes of the Welshman by signing new players and one of them was Erik Lamela as he arrived from AS Roma with a price tag of €25.8 but the 22 years old Argentinean player was hit with a back injury that has left him out of action since December 29.

The medical staff of Tottenham has not announced any estimated date when Lamela will be able to come back and this puts in danger his chance of playing for Argentina in the upcoming World Cup.

Since Andre Villas-Boas was in charge of Tottenham, the playing time of Emmanuel Adebayor was severely limited as he spent more time on the sidelines than on the playing field and during the few moments he was indeed on the pitch with the main squad of Tottenha, his performances left more to be desired.

His spell with Tottenham is now more enjoyable as Tim Sherwood seems to have given him a light of hope. The new role that Tim Sherwood has in the club was good news for the Togelese forward who is now starting to perform like the days back where he played in Arsenal.

Injury relief for Christian Eriksen of Tottenham

There were some tensions that £ 11.5 million signing from Ajax Christian Eriksen might be on the sideline till next year after hobbling out of Denmark's 2 - 1 victory on Friday against Norway. Recent scans have showed that Christian has suffered a sprained ankle injury, Earlier it was thought that it was a more severe rupture to his ligaments.

Now, he is aiming Tottenham's EPL match at White Hart Lane against Liverpool on 15th December for his return.

The Tottenham Hotspur manager, Andre Villas-Boas, has said that his relationship with Jose Mourinho is not as good as it used to be a few years back.

Villas-Boas who is just 35 years of age at the moment was Mourinho’s assistant for quite some time and worked under him at 3 different clubs. They decided to part ways 4 years back in 2009.

Villas-Boas will be up against his former boss on Saturday as his team Tottenham will take on Chelsea at White Hart lane.

Tottenham only recently invested heavily in the transfer market by bringing Brazilian midfielder Paulinho for close to £ 20 million.

However, they appear to set to take the transfer spending beyond the £ 50 million mark this summer after manager Andre Villas-Boas has said that the club are interested in bringing Valencia striker Roberto Soldado. These two people have had a lot of influence on his career according to Andre Villas-Boas. The Portuguese has been trying to adopt a style that is similar to the one used by Guardiola at the Camp Nou.
