HARRY KANE WANTS TEAM TROPHIES

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has disclosed that winning team trophies is better than individual accolades for him at the moment after he won an award at the London Football Awards on Tuesday.

Kane spoke with the media practitioners after being named the player of the year at the awards. At the same award ceremony, Arsenal starlet Bukayo Saka was named as the young player of the year.
Tottenham Hotspur have not won any major title in each of the last 13 years. Their last trophy was the 2008 League Cup. Kane and Spurs missed out on the chance to end the trophy drought in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

At the Wembley Stadium, Frenchman AymericLaporte scored in the final minutes of the game off a Kevin De Bruyne corner kick to hand Manchester City a 1-0 win over the North London team. The Citizens won the Carabao Cup title with the goal from ex-Bilbao centre back.

Manchester City have now won four straight Carabao Cup titles. They have also won five of the last six editions and six of the last eight editions.

England national team skipper Kane saw national team colleague Kyle Walker leave the club for Manchester City three years ago and he has won seven trophies at the Etihad Stadium in comparison to the none for Spurs and their talisman Kane.

According to the publication, Kane is expected to tell Spurs that he wants to leave the club in the summer if the North London giants don’t qualify for Champions League football in the new season. The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to other Premier League teams like Manchester City and Manchester United.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy always drive a hard bargain and it remains to be seen if he would sanction a move for the player. Kane is likely to command a transfer fee of over £100m if he were to leave North London.

TOTTENHAM BOOST CHAMPIONS LEAGUE HOPES

North London giants Tottenham Hotspur were able to boost their Champions League hopes with the impressive away win over Aston Villa at Villa Park on Sunday night. Ahead of the Villa game, pressure was mounting on Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho after his team were knocked out of the UEFA Europa League in a disappointing manner. Spurs had won the first leg 2-0 at home to Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia in their Europa League last 16 tie before the Croatians produced a monumental performance to ensure they seal a quarterfinal spot ahead of Tottenham Hotspur via a 3-2 win. Dinamo Zagreb beat Spurs 3-0 at the end of extra time to ensure that the comeback was complete in the tie. Mislav Orsic was the main man for Dinamo Zagreb against Tottenham Hotspur as he netted all the three goals in that second leg. Orsic scored twice in regulation time before netting the crucial third goal in extra time. The defeat at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb followed the disappointing 2-1 loss away to North London rivals Arsenal in the derby penultimate weekend. The two losses brought a lot of criticisms the way of Mourinho and his players but they were able to redeem themselves with the 2-0 win over Aston Villa. Brazilian attacker Lucas Moura was the main catalyst behind the win for Tottenham Hotspur after his assist in the first half led to the opening goal of the game scored by compatriot Carlos Vinicius, who was making only his second start in the Premier League. Carlos Vinicius is on loan at Spurs from Benfica in the Portuguese league. Tottenham Hotspur topscorer Harry Kane scored a second goal in the second half from the spot after he was fouled by Aston Villa right-back Matty Cash.

With the result, Spurs were able to move within three points of Chelsea in fourth place ahead of the last nine league games of the season. Tottenham Hotspur are in sixth place at the moment and one point off London rivals West Ham United in fifth spot.

TOTTENHAM WIN BIG AGAINST WOLFSBERGER

Tottenham Hotspur have moved a step closer to the round of 16 in the Europa League after the big win over their hosts, Wolfsberger AC of Austria. The two teams met in Budapest, the Hungary capital for the first leg of their round of 32 clash. Tottenham Hotspur benefited from an excellent first half showing to take a giant step towards securing a place in the last 16 of the competition.

Spurs were able to achieve the result without their talisman Harry Kane, who missed the game despite being fit. The England international skipper was rested for the game, which ended in a 4-1 win for his team. In the absence of Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min and Gareth Bale took centre stage for Tottenham Hotspur.South Korean national team skipper Son Heung-Min led the line for Spurs in the absence of Harry Kane, while Gareth Bale was given a rare start in the Spurs shirt this year and he made the most of the opportunity given to him with a goal and an assist.

Tottenham Hotspur have finally mentioned the amount it would cost any club looking at the possibility of signing Dele Alli any moment from now. The midfielder is no longer considered to be in manager José Mourinho’s plans after falling out completely with the Portuguese boss at the club.

The player, who was yet again left out of the squad that played Sheffield United in the Premier League clash on Sunday has been heavily linked with a move to French giants Paris Saint-Germain all window but Spurs have stopped him from swapping England for France this January so far.

Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes that Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are title challengers in the Premier League. According to the former England national team right-back, the London duo of Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea will challenge holders Liverpool for the Premier League title this season.

Gary Neville told Sky Sports that Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea will fight with the Reds for the league title due to the game changer, which is the long-term injury to Virgil Van Dijk. The Dutchman is one of the best players at Liverpool and he might struggle to play for his team again this season as a result of the knee injury sustained during the Merseyside Derby duel at Everton last month. Tottenham keen on bringing Flamengo player

Tottenham Hotspur has been looking forward to signing the Flamengo player Gerson and has been ready to offer £16 million as the transfer fee. But as per the reports, the club has declined their offer as they don’t have intention on selling him to the Premier League club. The Spurs have been constant contact with the club but they have disagreed.

Gerson has also shown interest in staying at the club and has agreed to a one-year contract extension with the team. He is looking forward to improving himself under the training of Jorge Jesus. Raheem Sterling Speaks about Former Club Liverpool

Raheem Sterling in a recent interview to BBC stated that Liverpool has offered a new contract of £100,000. Even after the controversy during the 2015 transfer window, the new offer shows Reds are interested in taking him back. The Englishman is expected to be a key figure at the upcoming 2022 World Cup.
The 25-year-old is not concerned with the money but for the trophies. In his time with City, he has won three League cups and a couple of both Premier League and FA cups.

One of Sterling’s representative said to the French daily L’Equipe: “Even if Raheem is attached to Manchester City, he hasn’t forgotten Liverpool, because that’s where he became who he is as a man and as a player. Of course, there was controversy surrounding his exit, but since then, time has run its course and everything is possible.”
The winger made his debut in Liverpool under the leadership of Kenny Dalglish in March 2012. But it was his time with Brendan Rodgers which shaped his football career.

WRIGHT-PHILLIPS REVEALS INSIGHT INTO MOURINHO’S TRAINING

With Jose Mourinho now at Tottenham Hotspurs, there has been some air of difficulties for the former Chelsea’s boss. Shaun Wright- Phillips made some revelations as regards his former boss basing majorly on how Mourinho had managed him then when he was still bossing Chelsea. He mentioned the manager having pre-meditations when he was at Chelsea but due to the play power he was facing at Tottenham, there has been a lot of change.

Back when he had managed Chelsea, he had been known for his doggedness in battling their opponents for several trophies especially those in the Premier League – The likes of Arsenal FC and Manchester United. He had really made himself known at Stamford Bridge for his charisma in surmounting challenges and was popularly known by fans worldwide.

CABALLERO – CHELSEA NEED TO BEAT SPURS

Chelsea shot stopper Willy Caballero says that the Blues need a win against Tottenham Hotspur when they meet on Sunday. He said Frank Lampard will have no issues facing his former boss who is now at the helm at Spurs when they play visitors on Sunday evening.
After four losses in the last five games, Lampard and his boys need the boost aside the perks of edging a Top Six rival. The fan base were angered with the home losses to West Ham and Bournemouth, especially when it seemed the team had found its balance.

Spurs on the other hand seemed to have found better form under Mourinho, after starting the term poorly under Mauricio Pochettino. They failed to beat Manchester United though but this would pose a different challenge hosting the under-fire Chelsea – who are only three points ahead and are their main rivals to break into the Top Four.

Caballero insists that the Blues want to win the game being a derby, and to end their poor string of results in the league. He admitted that Spurs seem to be playing well and better ready compared to two months ago but he believes Chelsea can still edge them. Also, he does not agree with the thinking that Mourinho vs. Lampard will be the highlight of the show.

The game also has strategic importance for Spurs as they test their strength against another top team. Spurs are in the midst of deciding if to sell Christian Eriksen and developing a transfer strategy. A poor result and not ending the season in the Top Four bracket could see them attempt to keep Eriksen and add certain caliber of players in January. But if they can pull a good season end, then rebuilding gradually would be the best bet.

TOTTENHAM CONTINUE NIGHTMARE RUN WITH LIVERPOOL LOSS

Tottenham defeat to Liverpool last Sunday came after a valiant effort from the North London side but ultimately their flaws were made to bare in yet another defeat. This is turning to a nightmare season for the North London club who appear to have no reprieve this season.

Pochettino and chairman Dany Levy have their own share of the blame as the club has stagnated to the situation that rivals Arsenal found themselves two seasons ago. Half a decade of Champions League football based on stringent finances have brought about complacency and mediocrity.
