On October 24 of 2018, Tottenham Hotspur locked horns with PSV Eindhoven as they competed against each other at the Phillips Stadion which is the home stadium of the Netherlands squad.

The match concluded in a 2-2 draw but it was bittersweet for the English Premier League team as they had the lead and appeared to be on the verge of winning but at the 87th minute, Luuk de Jong was able to find the back of the net and secure a draw.

Throughout the entirety of the game, Tottenham Hotspur did appear to have the upper hand and they did have 71% of possession with 9 shots on goal while PSV could only muster 3 on goal shots.

Supporters of Tottenham Hotspur are giving Hugo Lloris backlash as the shot-stopper received a red card after bringing down Hirving Lozano.

This is another one of the reasons of why Mauricio Pochettino is so disappointed in the final outcome of this match and in the performance of his squad as the Argentine tactician talked when the game was over and he said:
“If you don’t win this type of game it’s difficult to deserve to qualify. We completely dominated and we had the chances to kill the game. We need to be more aggressive and score more than two because you can always concede when the result is tight”

“It’s not difficult to analyze the game. That’s the reality. We didn’t deserve it“. We didn’t force it and that’s why our feeling is so bad. It was under control,“ we were playing well“ and the PSV fans were disappointed”

Tottenham Hotspur is located in Group B of the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League and after playing 3 matches, they have only secured 1 point. There still are 3 qualifying matches left to be played but considering their current state, Mauricio Pochettino’s statement of his team not deserving to qualify is likely to occur.
