Less than 2 weeks ago Mauricio Pochettino was appointed as the head coach of Tottenham Hotspur as he replaced Tim Sherwood who was removed from his position in the club and the Argentine manager is on the verge of making his first signings at White Hart Lane.

Liverpool is eager on signing Adam Lallana from Southampton as they have already dispatched offers of €25 million for the attacking midfielder but it was rejected as Southampton is not willing to let him go for anything less than €30 million.

Mauricio Pochettino is a an enthusiast of Lallana and he is hoping to persuade the chairman of Tottenham, Daniel Levy into allowing him leave the club for a significantly less asking price or maybe use a player of his own squad at White Hart Lane as a way to lure Lallana to Tottenham.

Brendan Rodgers and his quest to sign Lallana has been a long one as he has tried to secure his services of the English midfielder since last summer but Mauricio Pochettino wants to stop it from actually happening and bring Lallana to White Hart Lane instead of Liverpool.

Just in case Liverpool is not able to sign Adam Lallana, they already have been looking around in the transfer market for someone else who could be a more viable option and they have locked their eyes on Benfica’s Lazar Markovic.

Rodgers wants to act quickly in this summer transfer window and this can be evidenced by the fact that the club has already secured the services of Emre Can and Rodgers does not desire to have to wait a long time in order to sign Lallana and this is why Lazar Markovic is turning out to be an ideal target if the transaction involving Lallana from Southampton does not go through and be completed.
