Tottenham Hotspur has defeated Aston Villa in a Premier League match played at the White Hart Lane on Sunday. Tottenham won the match by 2-0. This was the fourth victory for Tottenham in the ongoing Premier league.

With this victory, Tottenham has now moved up to no. 5 in the points table with 14 points. Andre Villas Boas’ team has played 7 matches in the tournament so far. Out of those 7 matches, the Spurs have won 4, lost 1 and the remaining 2 ended in a draw.

On the other hand, Aston Villa is currently at no. 16 in the points table. The Villa team has also played seven matches so far out of which the team won only one match. The team lost four and the remaining two finished in the form of a draw.

A huge crowd was expected to turn up to cheer for the Spurs and that’s what exactly happened. The stadium was packed with more than 35,000 Tottenham supporters.

The Villa players looked out of touch and the coordination between them was not the best for sure. On the other hand, the Spurs were full of enthusiasm. In spite of creating a couple of opportunities in the first half, the Tottenham team didn’t manage to take the lead and at the half time break, the scorecard was saying 0-0.

The Spurs got ahead in the 58th minute of the match with the goal of Steven Caulker. He capitalized on a well placed corner kick from Jermain Defoe and flicked the ball home.
Just a few minutes later, the lead of Tottenham was doubled. This time it was Aaron Lennon who found the back of the net. Clint Dempsey was the one who assisted the goal.
The Villa team wasn’t able to score even a single goal in the match and lost yet another match in the ongoing Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur will play its next match against Chelsea on the upcoming Saturday at the same venue.
