The Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has said that the top four position still remains within reach for the Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, against whom he will be coming up in the midweek action.

Tottenham will be having the home match against Liverpool looking to cement their challenge for the top four positions, but it is extremely different for the away team. Liverpool came into the new season with hope and belief that the manager Brendan Rodgers will be able to guide them to a top four finish for the first time in three seasons. However, they have started in the season even worse than under Kenny Dalglish and find themselves in the bottom half of the table.

Despite this, they can keep make up the ground with the teams competing for the top four positions according to the Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas. Tottenham themselves are looking to finish in the top four positions, but their challenge has been faltering in recent weeks. Since the 4-2 defeat against Chelsea, they have been extremely poor in all competitions. This has seen them slip to the eighth position in the table before being helped back by the victory against West Ham United during the weekend. Andre Villas-Boas will be looking to build on the 3-1 victory when they take on Liverpool at White Hart Lane.

"At the moment they (Liverpool) are on a good run in terms of form. They would want ideally to turn the draws into wins. In a couple of games there were very close to winning but they didn't get the result that they wanted. They are in an awkward position in the league at the moment but the distance between the teams (in the middle of the table) is not a lot so it can change dramatically for them and they can join the top-10 very soon," said Andre Villas-Boas.
