According to Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have reached an agreement with Udinese for the capture of prodigious full-back Destiny Udogie. The left-back will cost the north London club over €20 million, while the player will remain with the Serie A club until 2023 on loan. After strengthening their squad significantly during the summer transfer window, Tottenham have made another strong move, albeit keeping the 2023/24 season in mind. Sporting director Fabio Paratici has been keeping an eye on future signings and ways to bring quality reinforcements to the club.

TOTTENHAM CONTINUE NIGHTMARE RUN WITH LIVERPOOL LOSS

Pochettino not too keen at new signings in winter
Mauricio Pochettino reckons that it’s quite hard for the players to walk into a club in the middle of the season and get going straightaway. Every club has different culture, different style of play, the teams have different formations. So the players gradually understand it with time and then ease into playing and performing for the club. It happens over time and not straightaway.
That’s why it’s always good that you make your signings in the summer rather than winter because if you buy someone in summer, the player gets that time during the pre-season to settle within the group and adapt himself to the club’s brand of Football. When he comes in winter, he doesn’t have that time.

When he comes in winter, he doesn’t have that time.
According to Pochettino, if you have a certain requirement in a particular department and you find exactly the kind of player you need to fulfill the requirement, then you can probably go for him mid-season, but if you don’t need someone desperately, there is no need to make a signing just for the sake of making a signing.
“Pochettino says that rather than making new signings and landing new players, he is actually interested in doing some outsourcing activity this winter“and is looking to place some players on loan, those players who are not getting the playing opportunity at Tottenham. They must be sent somewhere else “where they can get“ the playing opportunity.
“Sometimes it’s better not to sign if you don’t find the right player. And players who maybe don’t play too much need to go and play in another club.” Pochettino was quoted saying by The Guardian.
Tottenham is the third placed team in the Premiership table at the moment as they have gathered 36 points in 16 games.
Steve Bruce hands warning to Tottenham regarding Jack Grealish
Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has warned Tottenham Hotspur that they may not be able to sign Jack Grealish for a knockdown price this summer. Earlier last month, Bruce admitted that the Villains may have to offload some of main players after having entered into a transfer embargo, but the club have since managed to find a breakthrough with the change in ownership.
As a result, the west Midlands outfit are in a much better position financially and Bruce has now warned Spurs that Grealish won’t come on the cheap, he said: “I don’t want to lose Jack and neither do the owners. We don’t want to lose our best players but it’s football and it might happen. The one thing we’re able to do is be in a much better bargaining position because now, if Spurs want to buy him, they will have to buy him at a premium that in the last few weeks they haven’t been able to get to.Take money out of it, we’re in the Championship and Tottenham are in the Champions League so I’m aware that there is a human involved and a football player.”

Villa are presently required to recover £40m from outgoing signings to meet the Financial Fair Play requirements and this has regularly tipped them to part ways with Grealish. Nevertheless, Bruce has now completely ruled out the midfielder’s stay beyond the summer and admits that the club may take other solutions, if they are to keep hold of the 22-year-old.
Meanwhile, Spurs are yet to make a signing during the ongoing transfer window and this has recently witnessed Mauricio Pochettino admit his concern over the situation. The north London giants have been linked with a whole host of players during the transfer window but so far, they have not been able to find a breakthrough with any of their targets.
Mauricio Pochettino Admits Disappoint After Tottenham’s Champions League Exit
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that his side deserved more during their double-legged Champions League round of 16 tie versus Juventus. The north London side entered the home leg following a 2-2 comeback draw at the Allianz Stadium, but they failed to make their dominance pay during the first period.

Son Heung-min opened the scoring in the 39th-minute of the game to give Spurs a 3-2 aggregate lead at the break. However, with the restart, Spurs appeared more concerned about preserving, and this happened to haunt them in three second-half minutes, where Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala found the scoresheet for the Italian champions.

Mousa Sissoko Glad to Have Remained at Tottenham
Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko appeared to be on the verge of leaving the club in the summer, but he has ended up staying and has been a crucial part of the campaign.
The midfielder was brought in from Newcastle entered for a then-club record fee of £ 30 million. His signing on transfer deadline day was seen something of an urgency from the club in order to increase the squad strength, but it certainly did not work out as expected. Sissoko struggled throughout the campaign and was relegated to the position of being an impact substitute towards the end of the campaign.
There were a lot of transfer rumours linking him with a return to French Ligue 1 with a number of clubs showing interest – including Marseille. However, the midfielder decided to stay in North London despite this being a World Cup year. French national team boss Didier Deschamps is someone who tries to prefer players who play regularly for their club teams. Hence, it was a major gamble from Sissoko to remain at Tottenham.

The decision to stay at the club appears to have been rewarded as the midfielder has been going through a contrasting campaign. He has already featured in more than 300 minutes of football while he only managed 900 minutes in the entirety of the 2016-17 season.
“We thought about it [leaving] at the end of last season with my agent, and we decided that the best thing was to stay here with a year to go to the World Cup. Even if I didn’t play too much last season, I’m not the first nor the last player to have a difficult first season at a new club. And we thought everything was in place for me to flourish at Tottenham. Today, I tell myself, of course, that it was the right choice,” said Sissoko.
KANE: MAURICIO POCHETTINO IS EMOTIONAL
Tottenham striker Harry Kane has lifted the lid on ’emotional’ manager Mauricio Pochettino’s methods: ‘He’s ruthless if you cross him’
In Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham have a manager who is respectful to a fault but who can be ruthless if players refuse to do what is asked of them, according to Harry Kane.

In Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham have a manager who is respectful to a fault but who can be ruthless if players refuse to do what is asked of them, according to Harry Kane.
Since he arrived at the club in 2014, Pochettino has turned Spurs from top-four hopefuls to contenders for the Premier League title and the north London side currently sit second in the table, nine points behind Chelsea after 24 games.
‘A lot of the time he’s calm, but he’s very passionate. If he feels the problem isn’t the game but is about our attitude, he’ll tell us we need to work harder or play harder,’ Kane said.
Mauricio Pochettino becomes ‘ruthless’ with players who don’t show the right attitude
‘He’s emotional. And that’s what we want. We all feel the same, we all want to win, we’ve all got the same goal. He’s got two sides to him. He’s very respectful – if you respect him, he’ll show you respect back. If you work hard for him, he’ll give you his time,’ Kane said.
The England international also pointed out that if you don’t want to be a team player and don’t want to work for him, you have no place in the Tottenham squad.
Kane admitted he harbours hopes of captaining both boyhood club Tottenham and England someday. He sees himself as a leader and is relishing the prospect of captaining both teams in the future.
‘I see myself as a leader, so why not. I’d love to be captain of Tottenham and hopefully England as well,’ the 23-year-old said.
Tottenham travel to fifth placed Liverpool on Sunday as they look to keep up the pace with League leaders Chelsea.
Mauricio Pochettino wants his squad to be more aggressive
Tottenham Hotspur is the only team in the Premier League that has not sustained any loss out of their 11 opening league matches that have been played so far in the season of 2016-17.
Every other club in the top tier English League has at least sustained at least 1 defeat but Mauricio Pochettino and his team is at this point in time undefeated.

Not having lost a single league match from 11 games is something impressive but Mauricio Pochettino wants his squad to score more goals and try to give that final push that has been needed in many of their previous results which have ended in draws.
The Argentine head coach of Tottenham Hotspur, Mauricio Pochettino believes that in many of the matches of his squad, his players could’ve created more goal-scoring chances and edged out a triumph in their games that have finished in draws and according to Pochettino, it could’ve ended on victories.
“We need to be determined and aggressive in the last third. It’s true that the last few weeks after the international break it was difficult for us to score. We are creating the same chances as before but our percentage was poor in front of goal. We are working on that. We need to be more clinical in our offensive situation’’
“We are watching a lot of clips and videos, but it’s more about mentality, to be aggressive in your energy because the players know how to shoot. It’s mentality more than work. Mauricio Pochettino said.
During the 2015-16 season of the Premier League Mauricio Pochettino was able to guide Tottenham Hotspur to the 3rd spot and the Argentine coach is now aiming to finish at a higher position and this is why Pochettino is not satisfied with all of the recent draws that his squad has been securing and told them to give it their all in search for a goal and collect more points from each match instead of settling with draws.
TOTTENHAM HAPPY WITH NEW SIGNED CONTRACTS
Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur seem satisfied to have extended the deal of current key players in the squad. Talented English international Kyle Walker extended his contract with White Hart Lane.
A happy coach Mauricio Pochettino wore a club tracksuit and posed with the player, all smiles. In recent weeks, seven top Spurs players have extended their contract with the club. Dele Alli, Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen –despite rumours that he was leaving due to poor monetary compensation plan – Walker, Danny Rose, Tom Carroll, and Harry Winks. There are reports that defender Jan Vertonghen is next. Harry Kane and Erik Lamela deals are rumoured to be in the pipeline.

There are reports that defender Jan Vertonghen is next. Harry Kane and Erik Lamela deals are rumoured to be in the pipeline.
The deals put Tottenham at odds with counterparts. Whilst other clubs spent a fortune in the transfer market this summer, Spurs opted to retain their players. West Ham and Middlesbrough added 12 each, Watford signed one less than them, while Sunderland and Bournemouth added ten. The long term planning seem so ancient these days.
Alli’s deal means he would stay till 2022, while Rose, Walker, Winks, Dier and new additions Moussa Sissoko, Victor Wanyama and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou are contracted till 2021. Eight players are tied till 2020, meaning Spurs have the short term completely covered. It makes financial sense, particularly as they are young players. Walker and Rose are 26, and are among the oldest players in White Hart Lane. The planning is showing in the team’s performance as there is a promise of sustainability.
Arsenal had a lot of young talented players in Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Carl Jenkinson, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs and co in 2012. They looked like a team that would have the future British team, but look at where they are now. In Man City, several players signed long term deals in 2014, things have changed, yet the club is still helping out with salaries wherever they are playing. While this is good, there are other sides as well.
TOTTENHAM OFFLOAD DEANDRE YEDLIN
Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly offloaded DeAndre Yedlin as his deal with English Championship side Newcastle is done.
Yedlin has been linked with a move to Newcastle for a while now, but the deal is completed based on reports. Yedlin was even pictured as he arrived at Newcastle airport.

The United States international dropped in the pecking order at Tottenham, as he fell behind Danny Rose and Kyle Walker. The 23-year old would have to prove his worth with the Magpies to earn a spot back in top flight English football. He spent last season on loan at Sunderland, but upon returning to White Hart Lane, he was pushed out. ESPN FC says the deal is worth about $6.6 million. He is set to go under the tutelage of former Liverpool, Real Madrid and Chelsea coach, Rafa Benitez.
On the other hand, Bild say that Spurs could sign Bayer Leverkusen forward Hakan Calhanoglu in a deal worth £21 million. Calhanoglu was in impressive form for the German side last season, after his 2014 move from Hamburg. He was instrumental to Leverkusen’s third place finish, contributing eight goals and ten assists. There have been a lot of interests in the player – Premier League sides, Bundesliga and other countries in Europe. The report claimed Spurs are in talks as Coach Mauricio Pochettino admires him.
Pochettino added forward Vincent Janssen and midfielder Victor Wanyama this break but wants Calhanoglu before the transfer window closes in a days. Express Sport say the deal would cost the North London club at least £21 million to go through. Spurs could easily raise this money with the sale of Heung-Min Son. The 24-year old Korea international joined from German side Bayer Leverkusen last summer. Son played in 40 games but mainly as a substitute. After his impressive run for South Korea at the just concluded Rio 2016 Olympics, Wolfsburg want to take the player back to the Bundesliga.
