Tim Sherwood’s days as the Tottenham manager appeared to be numbered after midfielder Sandro claimed that the interim manager will be replaced at the end of the season. Sherwood was appointed as the replacement for Andre Villas-Boas after the Portuguese was sacked midway through the season. Even though initial results appeared extremely promising for Sherwood, things soon started turning sour after a couple of defeats. The club, who were expected to qualify for the Champions League next season, are now set to finish outside the top six.

Tottenham have been heavily linked with moves for Louis van Gaal and Frank de Boer in the last few weeks. Sherwood has been openly speaking rejected about his chances of remaining the Tottenham manager. He has also been critical of the club’s board during this period, which is likely to end his spell as the manager of the club. Sandro has come out with a statement that confirms what has been known for some time now. He says that Sherwood will be replaced as the manager in the summer.

After Louis van Gaal appears close to becoming the next Manchester United manager, Tottenham may turn their attention towards de Boer or Rafa Benitez. Sherwood has fallen out with most of his players during his short managerial reign.

‘Sherwood will leave at the end of the season. Then it’s a new coach – a new everything! I am happy at the moment. It would be very difficult to leave from here. Daniel Levy negotiates every transfer, this was the case for Gareth Bale, it’s not easy,’ Sandro told to ESPN Brazil. The club made signings worth close to £ 100 million in the summer, although most of the money was recovered after the £ 86 million sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid towards the end of the transfer window.
