Tottenham Hotspur are one of several teams in the hunt for a Champions League spot at the end of the season. Only a place in the top four of the Premier League will guarantee Champions League football ahead of next season. Apart from Tottenham Hotspur, clubs such as the London trio of Chelsea, West Ham United and Arsenal are also in the hunt in addition to Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Spurs had the opportunity to boost their top-four credentials when they played hosts to Southampton in a Matchday 24 clash at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday night, but they were unable to make an assault on a place in the top four thanks to the 3-2 home defeat to the Saints despite taking the lead on two occasions.
